【摘要】:Thistestmethodisvaluableindeterminingtheresistanceofflexible-packagingmaterialstoflex-formedpinholefailures.Thistestmethoddoesnotmeasureanyabrasioncomponentrelatingtoflexfailure.Physicalholescompletelythroughthestructurearetheonlyfailuresmeasuredbythecolored-turpentine-pinholeportionofthistest.Failuresintheintegrityofoneofthepliesofamulti-plystructurewillnotbedeterminedbythecolored-turpentinetest.Gaspermeationormoisturevaportransmissiontests,orboth,canbeusedinconjunctionwiththeflextesttomeasurethelossofplyintegrity.However,anypermeationtestrequiringapressuredifferentialwillnotmeasurethepermeationcoefficientinthepresenceofpinholes.4.3.1Thevariousconditionsdescribedinthisprocedurearetopreventtestingastructureunderconditionsthateithergivetoomanyholestoeffectivelycountandbesignificant(normallygreaterthan50),ortoofewtobesignificant(normallylessthanfivepersample).Measurementsonnylonfilm,possiblybecauseofitshydrophilicnature,havenotshowngoodreproducibility(betweenlaboratories),althoughtherepeatabilityofthedatawithinalaboratorywasgood.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheflexresistanceofflexiblebarriermaterials.Pinholeformationisthecriterionpresentedformeasuringfailure,butothertestssuchasgas-transmissionratescanbeusedinplaceofthepinholetest.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificprecautionarystatementsaregivenin.
